PAUL BENTLEY
1976: Started Work.
I started my working life as a trainee Programmer with Tate & Lyle. Over the next 12 years, I worked for three (small independent) software companies progressing to Senior Analyst Programmer before the ‘Entrepreneur bug hit me in 1988.
1988 - 2000: Owner and Managing Director of I.T. Companies.
In 1988 I created my first company, PB Computers Ltd, a software development business specialising in software and services for the recruitment industry.
I single handedly developed this company to a staff of 50 personnel; offices in England, Scotland and Wales; over 350 clients in 5 countries; turnover in excess of £3M and a business valued in excess of £1M.
I managed this company through a liquidation and buyout in 1997 and sold my shares in the resulting business three years later.
2000 - Present: Business Consultant as PJB Business Development.
